Bitter Melon" - Not so tasty eatable but has lots of herbal power

Bitter melon mostly found in tropical parts of the world, including Africa, Asia and South America. All parts of the plant are used; the bitter melon plant is used for nutritional purpose as well as for medicinal purpose.

Bitter Melon is also known as Karela and Bitter gourd. Bitter Melon is usually used for creating medicinal remedies. Its taste is very bitter; it is an herb that helps regulate blood sugar levels and keeps body functions operating normal.
Bitter Melon (Momordica Charantia) is a cucumber-shaped, green vegetable believed to have a high iron content, which increases its value as a preventative medicine for many health conditions.
There are two proteins in bitter melon, which are thought to suppress the AIDS virus. However, its effectiveness in humans for the treatment of AIDS has not been proven by scientific verification. The principle constituents of bitter melon are lectins, charantin and momordicine.
Bitter melon has well known result in diabetes mellitus, it is not only beneficial in diabetes mellitus but is also very beneficial in many other disorders that have been troubling mankind.
